Finland-based emission control and testing technology company Proventia has been selected by engine manufacturer Kohler to develop and supply exhaust aftertreatment systems.

The development partner and supplier agreement is related to Kohler’s new 105 kW engines used, for instance, in agricultural and construction equipment, which will come under strict new EU regulations in January 2020.

The EU’s upcoming Stage V emissions standard is the world’s toughest for non-road mobile machinery and will limit nitrogen oxides (NOX), overall mass of particulate matter (PM) and the number of particles in the exhaust gas.

“Kohler is a world-renowned manufacturer of engines, and we are pleased that they have chosen Proventia as their Stage V emission partner for 105 kW engines,” said Jari Lotvonen, president and CEO of Proventia. “We will do everything to ensure the project is a success and leads to new co-operation and business opportunities between Proventia and Kohler in the future.”

Proventia is part of the Head Invest Group of technology companies. It employs 130 people in Finland and the Czech Republic, where it expanded last year.
