Finnish welding and production automation provider Pemamek will deliver a substantial order to the Osborne South Naval Shipyard in Adelaide.

Pemamek

received the order for shipbuilding production automation technology from Lendlease Building Contractors, the managing contractor of a large-scale redevelopment project at the shipyard in South Australia.

The development involves the construction of new facilities at the shipyard, including the necessary manufacturing workshops to support Australia’s continuous build programmes for frigates and submarines.

“This order will further strengthen Pemamek’s position as the world’s leading production automation supplier in the shipbuilding industry,” said Jukka Rantala, vice president of key accounts at Pemamek. “We are extremely proud to be supporting Lendlease and Australian Naval Infrastructure as part of this world-class project.”

Pemamek’s turnkey delivery includes advanced flat panel and micro panel lines, a T-beam manufacturing line, profile processing line, robotised block welding stations and plate milling technology.

The complete order is expected to be production-ready by early 2020.
