Finnair to fly year-round to Guangzhou
Finnish national carrier, Finnair, will extend its seasonal route between Helsinki and Guangzhou, China, to a year-round operation.
has operated a summer route between the Finnish capital and Guangzhou since 2016, with four weekly flights, and has now announced a twice-weekly service starting in the winter season of 2019–2020.
As of this spring, Finnair will also add both passenger and cargo capacity to the Chinese destination by operating the route with its new Airbus A350 aircraft.
“The extension of the operating season of our Guangzhou route is a logical next step in our Asian strategy,” saidChristian Lesjak, director of network and resource management at Finnair. “Travel between Finnair’s Chinese destinations and Europe is increasing, and we are happy now to be able to offer year-round operations to our passengers and cargo customers.”
A move to the new Terminal 2 in Guangzhou will also offer Finnair passengers smoother transfers and support the airline’s code-share collaboration with China Southern.
Finnair currently operates seven routes to Greater China: Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Chongqing, Xi´an, Guangzhou and Hong Kong.
