Finnish company Oriola has signed an agreement with the Stockholm County Council (SLL) to engage in dose dispensing co-operation starting in February 2019.

The contract is for three years with a possible one-year extension, during which time Oriola will provide dose dispensing services to 35 000 patients in the Stockholm and Gotland areas.

By early next year, Oriola will serve 100 000 patients altogether in Finland and Sweden. There are approximately 200 000 dose dispensing patients in Sweden and 45 000 in Finland, and the market is growing at an annual rate of five to 10 per cent due to an ageing population and growing home care.

“We are very happy that SLL chose Oriola as their new partner,” says Thomas Gawell, vice president of healthcare at Oriola. “With this contract, our dose dispensing volume increases significantly from 50 000 to over 85 000 patients served in Sweden. We are constantly developing our dose dispensing service Svensk Dos in Uppsala to be able to serve the growing Swedish dose market.”
