Harvia adds steam to US sauna business
Finnish sauna manufacturer Harvia is acquiring the business of Almost Heaven Saunas in the US.
The approximately four million-euro acquisition will strengthen Harvia’s service capabilities and offering in North America.
Harvia has collaborated with Almost Heaven Saunas since 2013, with around half of its revenue in North America in 2017 (approximately three million euros) coming through the US indoor and outdoor sauna manufacturer.
“The acquisition of Almost Heaven Saunas is a significant step in developing our business in North America,” said Tapio Pajuharju, CEO of Harvia. “Almost Heaven Saunas has been Harvia’s client since 2013. The company’s growth has been strong in the last few years, which combined with the work done with our other clients and distributors has resulted in positive sales development for Harvia in North America.”
Almost Heaven Saunas has a manufacturing facility in Renick, West Virginia, and a sales office in Holland, Michigan. It employs around 40 people who will be employed by Harvia following the transaction, and its CEO and owner Rick Mouw will continue his involvement as a consultant for Harvia.
The acquisition is expected to be completed in January 2019 at the latest.
