Finnish firms line up new orders globally

First up is Outotec, which will deliver minerals processing technology for a new copper concentrator to be built in South America. The order is worth approximately 25 million euros and was made by an unnamed customer.

Next in line is Neste, with the Vista Unified School District (VUSD) in San Diego, California, having opted to change its fleet of 53 school buses to run on Neste MY Renewable Diesel. VUSD is the fourth largest school district in San Diego County.

Then on to Kalmar, part of Cargotec, which will supply 10 new straddle carriers for the port and transport logistics group Hamburger Hafen und Logistik (HHLA). The new straddle carriers will be used at the HHLA Container Terminal Burchardkai at the Port of Hamburg to transport containers between the port’s ship-to-shore cranes and automated stacking cranes.

Kalmar has also signed an agreement with Deepwater Container Terminal (DCT) Gdansk for the delivery of three electrically powered rail-mounted gantry cranes (RMGs) with DCT-specific customisation. DCT Gdnask is the largest and fastest growing container facility in Poland, with an annual throughput capacity of three million TEUs.

Finally to Valmet, which has received an order for a pulp mill from Estonian Cell. In the first stage of the delivery, Valmet will supply a conversion of the existing bleached chemi-thermomechanical pulp plant. In the second stage, Valmet will deliver machinery to boost the production and cost-efficiency of the mill. An order of this size and scope is typically valued at 5–10 million euros.
