Finnish firms give a lift to partners worldwide

Finnish companies KONE, Outotec and Nokia are to provide solutions to their industrial partners in different parts of the world.

First up is KONE, which has won an order for the installation of its MonoSpace 700 lifts at new stations of the Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit (LRT) project in Toronto, Canada.

The project, owned and designed by Metrolinx, includes the construction of 25 stations for the new cross-city line, with KONE set to install 51 KONE MonoSpace 700 lifts in 16 of the stations.

Outotec

meanwhile, will deliver an iron ore pelletising plant and filters for the expansion of an unnamed Indian customer’s operations.

The order is valued at 50 million euros and includes basic engineering and process technology for the pelletising plant, key process equipment and 11 filter presses, as well as advisory services for erection and commissioning.

Finally to Nokia, which is partnering with Lebanese mobile operator Alfa to deploy its AirScale solution in Lebanon. The solution will provide an enhanced voice and mobile broadband experience to Alfa’s subscribers and pave the way for the 5G evolution in the country.

The two companies have also signed a memorandum of understanding to apply Nokia’s Airscale system across 3G, 4G and 5G radio technologies to further develop Alfa’s network.
