Finnair adds routes to Italy, France and Portugal
Finnish national carrier Finnair is opening three new routes to Bologna, Bordeaux and Porto for the peak summer season in 2019.
The move sees the airline further strengthening its summer holiday offering for leisure customers.
Finnair will fly up to three times weekly to the Italian city of Bologna between April and October. Additionally, it will operate up to two weekly flights to Bordeaux, France, between May and September, and two weekly flights to Porto, Portugal, between June and August.
“We are very pleased to be able to offer these three new routes for leisure travellers next summer,” says Finnair COO Juha Järvinen. “The three cities and surrounding areas have plenty to offer our customers and we fully expect the routes to be popular with food enthusiasts as all three regions are superb culinary and wine regions.”
Finnair also announced that it is adding capacity to some of its popular leisure destinations next summer, including to Alanya-Gazipasa, Palma de Mallorca, Split and Tel Aviv.
The airline has been expanding its offering this year. It announced in September that it is adding capacity to its routes between its Helsinki hub and Lisbon, Alanya (Gazipasa) and Brussels. Additionally, capacity is being boosted on several routes to Japan and Greater China, and Finnair is also commencing direct flights to Los Angeles, US, in March next year.
