Axon employs imaging A-Team in Finland
Axon, a leader in connected law enforcement technology, has brought in a team of imaging experts to work at company’s new R&D site in Tampere.
The team has already commenced work in Tampere, where they will focus on enhancing Axon’s future wearable and in-car cameras, and also develop a platform for future advancements that leverage AR, VR and AI.
The group has worked together on multiple projects over the past decade, most recently spearheading imaging development for Nokia’s professional VR camera, the Nokia OZO.
“We are thrilled to bring this talented group of imaging engineers on board,” says Axon CEO and founder Rick Smith. “We never stop trying to improve upon the technology we produce for our customers. We know this team will take it to another level, creating next generation breakthroughs for our body-worn and in-car cameras.”
Renowned for breaking new ground in imaging technology, Alakarhu has previously led camera technology teams at Nokia and Microsoft and developed several industry-first technologies for smartphones and virtual reality.
Regional economic development agency Business Tampere worked closely with Axon to secure the imaging experts and opening the new Axon office in Finland.
