Silvasti becomes the biggest in the north
Finnish Transport Company Ville Silvasti has acquired Danish Frank Nørager & Co, a family-owned business specialising in wind power logistics.
The purchase makes Silvasti the largest special transport company in Northern Europe, with a turnover of nearly 50 million euros and a staff of nearly 200. It also boosts Silvasti’s expertise particularly in wind power logistics and increases the companies’ capacity to concurrently carry out demanding special transport projects for the industrial sector across Europe.
Silvasti deems the acquisition a natural continuation for years of commitment to family entrepreneurship.
“In order to grow in Europe, we must expand both geographically and in terms of our equipment,” says majority owner Ville Silvasti. “We consider the acquisition to be a real ‘perfect match’, bringing together competences that complement each other perfectly.”
Silvasti, established in the 1970s, has subsidiaries in Sweden, Norway and Russia, and Nørager has subsidiaries in Poland and Germany. For now, Nørager will continue to operate under its own name and brand as part of the Silvasti Group.
