Finnish elevator and escalator giant KONE has acquired Ascensores R Casado in Madrid.

The Spanish elevator company provides installation, maintenance and modernisation services. Ascensores R Casado currently has over 1 300 elevators in service.

&#8220;Madrid represents a key market for KONE in Spain and this acquisition will strengthen our market position in the region,&#8221; says Pierre Liautaud, executive vice president for KONE South Europe, Middle East and Africa. &#8220;We welcome all the employees and customers of Ascensores R Casado to KONE.&#8221;

The development follows last week’s news that the Finnish company has <a href="https://www.goodnewsfinland.com/kone-steps-asia/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">strengthened its position in Hong Kong</a>.
